Trainee Business Development manager.

We are expanding, with another office opening in the centre of Nottingham.
We have a vacancy for a trainee/junior BDM, working within the Commercial Director's sales team.

*This vacancy is in support of the government's kickstart program, for pepople aged 16-24 and in receipt of Universal Credit*
This role pays £8-£10ph + commission & quarterly bonus after sucessful completion of 3m training period.

This position will develop for the right candidate, into an autonomous 360 Business Development role within 6-9 months.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Sourcing prospective clients via both direct & indirect channels.
  • Arranging appointments to discuss customer needs, both in person and virtually.
  • Building relationships with local complimentary businesses for reciprocal introductions.
  • Attending networking meetings on behalf of the company.
  • Learning, & latterly becoming involved in the pricing, negotiation and securing of contracts with our clients.
  • Learning to manage the customer journey from prospect to live client, and through to account management.

Essential skills:
Like with many owner managed companies we are as (if not more) interested in a positive attitude, a
 keen student mentality & a strong work ethic, than your qualifications. 
For example the DUS owners started out as: a door to salesman, a sheep midwife and a farm hand.

They all approached each day as a fresh opportunity to enjoy the day to it's fullest - and strived to be the best they could be.

A positive attitude is the single biggest asset DUS look for in any potential recruits -
Whether the role is in our Sales, Finance,  Account Management, Operations, Metering, Customer care, Billing or Quality Compliance team.

For the role of Trainee Business Development Manager, we are looking for the succesful candidate;
  • To demonstrate examples of having a positive and resilient attitude.
  • To show a desire to learn and develop their BD skills.
  • To demonstrate experience working in a fast paced target driven environment.
  • To explain how their values and ours align, and where they would bring most value to the company.
Experience from within the energy industry is preferred but not essential.
