There are currently hundreds of electric charging points across the UK, and to help support the government's plan, there needs to be thousands more fitted to facilitate the projected 36 Million Hybrid/Electric cars, that are expected to be on our roads by 2040 (or sooner). To fully charge your car could take between 1-4 hours (depended on charger output) most people charge their cars overnight, but companies are being encouraged to install chargers at places of work, so you can charge your car while there. You can also charge your car in lots of different places like service stations, supermarkets, and petrol stations, these are usually convenient and quicker but tend to be more expensive. You can pay for the charging of the car by contactless payment which makes it even easier.
Honda has announced that it will only produce Hybrid/Electric cars by 2022, and other manufacturers are expected to follow suit.
Current cars run with acid batteries, Whereas Electric cars have a lithium battery and it can hold a higher charge and is much better for the environment.
